Trainings

The compressor workshops offered by IDE NewParts Compressors are necessary and useful, especially if you want to be able to guarantee safe operation and proper handling of your compressor system. These workshops may even be compulsory for certain divers’ certificates or for fulfilling legal provisions.

At large filling stations and diving centers, failure of a compressor or filling contaminated air due to inadequate or inexpert maintenance, usually causes an immense loss of image and financial losses - this can only be prevented by profound technical knowledge and proper handling of the compressor system.

Compressors have no overly complicated construction - the basic knowledge taught at our workshops should be well sufficient to properly run the compressor, and carry out the most important maintenance and smaller repair work.

Why high-pressure compressor workshops?

Breathing-air, clean and pure in compliance with DIN 3188 or EN 12021, respectively, is the best starting point for a safe dive. To ensure this, two basic prerequisites must be met: a filling station in compliance with strict technical regulations and proper operation. Most of all, all applicable safety requirements must be observed strictly and thoroughly. Inexpert operation and subsequent failure of the compressor not only costs money, but also poses a risk of injury to personnel and divers.

The skills you will learn during the practical parts of the workshops, and the technical knowledge from the theory parts, will help you operate and maintain a compressor system safely, competently and in compliance with the relevant regulations.
The theory part explains facts and functions of the compressor, as well as the legal provisions relevant to the operation of a filling station for breathing-air. Knowledge of these provisions is indispensable for all operators and will therefore be an important focus in our workshops. In the practical part we will teach you how to carry out the type of maintenance work, the manufacturer scheduled to be done by the operator, and the necessary skills and knowledge to do smaller repairs in consultation with the manufacturer.

Who can and may participate in I.D.E. NewParts compressor workshops?

The German Betriebssicherheitsverordnung (operational safety regulations) and its provisions require the owner and operator of a breathing-air compressor to be responsible-minded. Legislature therefore prescribes a minimum age of 18 years (BetrSichV § 23 - German operational safety regulations). Indispensible prerequisites to operate a filling station properly and within the law, are technical interest, basic technical knowledge and skills, and the ability to logically apply technical facts and functions. It is favorable, if the participant himself/herself needs breathing-air for professional or recreational activities, and thus knows exactly what a customer needs. If you ever dived with bad air, you know how disagreeable and dangerous this can be, and you will certainly endeavor to avoid improper filling and inexpert maintenance of system and filters.

In view of the constantly changing legal provisions, technical innovations and developments, we recommend to refresh and update your knowledge and skills every two or three years. After participation in two New Parts Europe compressor workshops, you will receive a 20 % discount on the current workshop prices.
